What 71,195 chiropractors look like on Google

Computed from public Google Business Profile listings across 51 states, refreshed monthly. Read the full report.

44.6%
have fewer than 10 reviews

Chiropractors get pitched harder than almost any other local practice. Seminar companies, lead brokers, review widgets, "new patient systems" sold by the box, all asking for six months up front before a single person walks through the door. That order is backwards, and it is why this site exists.

Two rules here. Every guide tells you exactly what to do, with the numbers, whether or not you ever contact us. And if you would rather have it run for you, you pick one service and we run it for 14 days at no cost. No card. If your new patient count does not move, you are out one setup call.

What is on the site

The benchmark report is built from 71,195 public Google Business Profile listings for chiropractic practices across 51 states. The median practice has 15 reviews. 20% have none at all. 23.9% list no website. Practices with a website carry a median of 31 reviews against 1 for those without. Find where your office sits before you spend anything.

The guides cover what actually fills a schedule: review velocity that respects patient privacy, a Google profile built for "chiropractor near me", ads that bring in headaches and low back pain instead of tire kickers, personal injury and auto accident referral channels, care plan pricing, and reactivating the patients already sitting in your practice management software.

The calculator takes your own care plan value and call volume and shows what unanswered front desk calls cost per month. For most offices that number is larger than their entire ad budget.

Who writes this

Steve Meitler edits the site, runs the campaigns behind the trial, and builds the benchmark dataset from public listings himself. More on the about page, and straight answers on the FAQ.

Questions

Common questions

How many Google reviews does a chiropractic practice need?

More than the offices you appear next to in the map pack. Across 71,195 chiropractic listings the median is 15 reviews and 44.6% have fewer than 10. In a competitive suburb the practices holding the top three map spots usually sit past 100, a level only 21.3% of chiropractors reach. A realistic target is two to four new reviews a week, asked for at the front desk on the day a patient tells you they feel better. The reviews guide has the scripts.

Can I advertise a free exam or a discounted first visit?

Sometimes, and it depends entirely on your state. Several chiropractic boards restrict or prohibit free and discounted examination offers, require specific disclaimer language, or regulate how the word "free" may be used in advertising. A few also limit offers when Medicare or federal beneficiaries could respond. Before you run any new patient offer, read your own state board's advertising rules and ask your malpractice carrier. Where offers are restricted, lead with access instead: same-day appointments, evening hours, no wait.

Can I use patient testimonials and reply to reviews?

Reviews are patient-authored, so patients may say whatever they like. You may not. Confirming that someone is a patient, naming a condition, or discussing a visit in a public reply can be a HIPAA disclosure even when the patient posted first. Reply in generic language: thank the reviewer, state your service standard, and invite a private call. For website testimonials, get a signed written authorization that names exactly what may be published. The website guide covers the wording.

What does a new patient cost on Google Ads?

Most practices land between $60 and $200 per booked new patient in mid-size markets, and $150 to $400 in dense metros where medical and physical therapy advertisers bid the same keywords. Condition searches such as "sciatica treatment" and "back pain doctor near me" convert better and cost less than the generic "chiropractor" term. Practices that lose money almost always run broad match with no negative keyword list and no call tracking. See the Google Ads guide.
